Aircraft Accident flight LG 9642 / LH 2420
Luxembourg, Wednesday, November 06, 2002
Luxair Luxembourg Airlines intensly regrets to confirm that its flight number LG 9642 / LH 2420, from Berlin Tempelhof to Luxembourg was involved in an accident this morning, at Niederanven near Luxembourg Airport.
Although no further details of the accident are available at this moment we can confirm that there are 19 passengers and 3 crewmembers on board. The aircraft, a Fokker 50, entered service with Luxair in June 1991.
At this difficult time, Luxair is doing everything possible to assist the relatives or friends of those, who may have been on board, as the local authorities as well. A hotline for the next of kin has been established. The numbers are:
