sure we did not visit as many wineries... We did enjoy the touristy but very well done Napa Wine Train (perhaps 20x better than the "Spirit of Washington" train out of Renton, IMO,) and of course the area is compact enough to visit lots of wineries and enjoy some good food.
The construction looks like it started within the last week or two - and I expect will go on for at least a few months, if they are very fast and the weather holds. I'll try to ask what is going on at checkout tomorrow.

They may have mistaken the construction noise for pounding-in-the-head hangovers.
They were very pleased with the hotel and the dozen wineries they visited in 2 1/2 days. They also found a brewpub nearby for those moments when they weren't drinking wine.
