My sister has had this problem. If memory serves, Virgin were able to assist - unfortunately she was travelling to Afghanistan which wasn't on the Virgin network, and I don't remember how she got the meds from the connecting hub. There was talk of using a Harrier to deliver them.

BA isn't used by her department, so no experience there, sorry - but I'm sure they'd be accomodating if you call them up.
