What (extra) routes do you wish SQ had?
Yes, exactly as in the title: What extra routes do you wish SQ had?
It's not about rumors or what would perhaps be financially successful to them, but cities that could actually work (as in not some in-the-middle-of-nowhere airfield). SIN is such a large transit hub, SQ does well on many of their routes automatically (obviously the good service helps), as opposed to MH which also has great service but KUL really isn't an as attractive/large hub. As for me, I think it would be great if SQ did these routes:
1) SIN-ARN-DUB/GLA/BHX
2) SIN-JNB-GRU/GIG/SCL/EZE
3) SIN-MAD (?)
4) SIN-(some city in northern Europe, like OSL/HEL)-IAD
Commentary:
1) A flight to ARN could use SK as a feeder service, and Swedes travel a lot to SE Asia. The TG ARN-BKK flight is successful, why not ARN-SIN? The continuation was more to add an extra destination in England. SQ are going to ave a hard time competing with airlines from the ME on the Kangaroo Route with only MAN and LHR as their destinations in England, as opposed to (EK) GLA, MAN, BHX, LHR. The continuation could also be on their CPH service instead.
2) MH has a total monopoly on the SE Asia - South Africa - South America route. SA only flies to BOM and HKG. SQ could make it work I think. What do you think?
3) They already fly to BCN. How do you think they would fare with MAD?
4) A northern european city would add to their network, and IAD would be an important connection (UA/SQ). SQ has already showed us how much they realize North America is an important market for them.
