I am travelling from EDI to AMS on Easyjet to start an ex-AMS - JFK MFU. I arrive in AMS at 12.00 but my flight from AMS to LHR does not leave until c19.00. My flight from LHR to JFK leaves at 0820 the next day, so I am booked in to the Hilton at T4 for the overnight. I plan to go into Amsterdam and have a look round before returning to the airport at 18.00. I have 3 questions:

1. Will I be able to check my bags in at the BA desk when I arrive in AMS at 12.00 or will I have to leave the bags in left luggage and check them in when I return to the airport?

2. I will overnight in LHR and catch the first flight to JFK in the morning. Will I be able to check my bags all the way through from AMS to JFK?

3. OT but can anyone recommend a nice place to go for lunch in Amsterdam?
