Completely agrees with you ^ , flew LH FRA-HKG and FRA-NRT last yr in C and Y and food is v. bad . No choice for the 2nd meal in Yand C meals are not any better either. Had the "oriental choice" and the noodle I must say is microwave food served on plates.
On the other hand TG (or SQ), their food is so tasty. Maybe Asian carriers are better at doing Asian dishes ? Although haven't flown the FRA-BKK route on TG myself but I wonder does LH and TG shares the same catering in FRA? If so how can the standard varies so much?

I really appreciate the extra touch TG provides with the change in Uniform in-flight. It makes u feel warm and I think it's important things should not be cut just because not every passengers notice it.
For example: I wonder if how many of you still remember 8-10 yrs ago when u fly SIN-LHR route on SQ in Y. You are given a "snack box" in between the 2 meals for the day flight or a real hot towel that makes out of cotton instead of a paper towel, that simply doesn't exist anymore (I think after SARS, no?). When I first flew on that route, I was so pleased to get that and the amenity kid in Y (which TG doesn't have). It's little things like these that gets into FF's mind and makes the airline special and diff. to others.
