Correct. The reason the Thai dress is worn on board is that TG considers the plane to be their "home in the air" and in order to give you the traditional welcome you into their home, they change into the traditional Thai dress for boarding. They change into regular uniforms while working or on the ground.

No to the first question(mainly because they don't know why). All female FAs including those in Y change....I can't remember if the male FAs change.
