If it has taken 10 months to get 21,800 miles and this was a year that was one or a few special trips to get there then there isn't much point working to GLD this year if next year doesn't have much planned flying or as little as this year. How many points do you have? Maybe you need less than 3200 points if you have flown in any premium/full fare class this year.
