My wife had her suitcase cut open, and a camera and electronic dictionary removed,
on an AC flight from HKG-YYZ.

AC refused any compensation, insurance was bogged down - they wanted purchase
receipts and these items were a couple of years old, receipts long gone.

So we ended up with zilch.

I ended up chastising her for packing valuables in checked luggage, and that was
pretty much it.
