Just and update on this situation:
I was in LAX today so I went ahead to AC baggage claim office and told them what had happened. They opened a pilfer ticket for me and advised me to file a report with LAX Airport Police, which I did after that. I'm going to fax them my proof of purchase and the serial# of the camera to be on file.

So, what is the limit of liablity on a pilfer claim? Any hopes of getting anything at all from AC?
