Over the last few years I've had 4 or 5 nights where I dreamed of airplane crashes and then the next day hear about a plane crash. Only once were the settings similar (dream crash vs. real crash). I always wondered what would happen if I had one of these dreams the night before I was supposed to fly!!
I do have have second thoughts due to bad feelings, though I still get on that plane. I think it all stems to a control issue--since you place the safety of your transportation entirely in the hands of two pilots and the FAA controllers along your route.
I have had a plane crash dream while on a plane though. SLC-EWR on CO. Never will forget that flight, especially when I woke up and panicked (just a little). Something about the plane crashing into a billboard (ala the horrible "Turbulence" movie where the 747 goes through the LAX parking garage).
