Hmmm.... I flew NRT-TPE a couple of weeks ago (post-baggie era) and everyone was put through a cursory screening on the jetway. They simply asked if I had any drinks or other liquids and didn't actually search the bag. She did steal two books of matches, though... even though they are allowed.
