Whenever I calculate the miles necessary for an an award or an upgrade, I always consult M&M´s – sometimes outdated - Earn&Spend calculator http://www.lufthansa.com/aerodyn/es_...tion=upgrades. After doing this, you find the fine print: “The Upgrade is only valid on the intercontinental flight segment. An upgrade possibility from Germany to Europe is available for 10000 Meiles.”

May I ask you one question, aleph08: What is the reason choosing LH instead of OS for your flight?
