Maybe it's because I'm in management at my company, but I see this from management's point of view. Do I want any of my employees telling any of my customers that they're not happy in their jobs? Absolutely not, let alone the ones perceived as the most prestigious and most responsible for the customers' welfare, let alone telling a hundred customers at once. If I were the pilot's supervisor, doing this even once would be grounds for a long talk at the minimum. If it were repeated, I'd arrange for the pilot to have the time available for a career he was happy with.
