I'd try calling again. I suppose it is possible they had to swap out a plane and just happened to have a spare PS 757 lying around, but that route is scheduled for a 752. Row 23 is definitely in E- on the 752.

I don't think I'd characterize the response you got as lying so much as you were undoubtedly talking to the Indian Call Center where many of the CSRs don't know their butt from their elbow. Try another call.
