I agree that this promo is worthwhile only if you do it in at least two FF programs and most of the trips are already covered by travels needs with a "few adjustments".

The lack of formal description of this program, I suspect, is going to lead to a lot of problems at the end. Unfortunately, you will not know if you have qualified until the end of the promo where you will be unable to make up for any shortcomings.

Some potential problems I can see are:

1. Qualifying on two airlines: Can be disallowed even if not on same PNRs. There are *A rules and individual airline rules. If the condition "can only be earned once" is deemed to be a *A rule then we will be denied bonuses in two programs.

A sub-problem is the denial of flights to two different qulifications in the same PNR. UA is specific about saying 5 segments rather than 5 flights. Other programs say 5 flights and they may dispute connecting flights being spread across two programs.

2. The OS group problem.

3. The UA "R/T intercontinental on a single airline" requirement which is ambiguous and can be interpreted to mean you should complete a R/T intercontinental on the same airline (thus requiring 6 segments).

Playing it safe and assuming the worst case in the above makes the promotion even less appealing. Sigh.

We should keep a repository of all correspondence somewhere for tackling problems in July.
