Just mention you're looking at "resales", and they'll move you right on to the gift segment
IMO, as the market is beginning to soften, you may see a change in Marriott's sales tactics. Traditionally low key, letting the resorts sell themselves, things are a changin'
FWIW, if you have a hard time saying no, but can't pass up a good deal (promo/points), you can always rescind (time period varies by resort).
