I don't see any reason why you couldn't. After finishing your short vacation, just call SQ and cancel your flight. I don't think they care as they have another seat to sell and you don't care loosing the return.
There is nothing to loose for you, except your return which obviously you don't want and nothing to loose for them as you paid for your return but don't use it.
