I value Hilton points at 1/2 cent each. If you save up enough, often it's a much better deal to do a 6 or 7 night stay. In particular some stays cost the same amount, but you get more benefits by using points. For a Scandic stay next summer I can get a family room, that would cost me over $200 a night for just 20k points a night. It would have been an even bigger bargain, had I booked before the increase from 10K a night.
