Resolving an over-charge situation
We rented a Subaru recently. My wife accidentally locked the keys inside the car. She ended up calling Hertz Roadside assistance. They told her clearly that it would cost 48.00 USD for the service of opening the car. She agreed to the charge.
After we returned the car and closed the contract, I noticed that we were charged 95.00 USD instead of 48.00.
Any suggestions on whom to follow-up with to have the additional 47.00 USD removed/explained? The person who handled the return at our HLE had no satisfactory explanation.
FWIW, I am Five Star.
PS : I know that AAA members get this service for free. For future reference, it would be worth calling AAA first before calling Hertz.
