It's nice that the SPG Amex now gives you bonus points for charges made at certain shops inside *wood hotels. I tried to take advantage of this yesterday at the gift shop inside the Sheraton San Jose. Unfortunately, their store does not take Amex. Call me crazy, but shouldn't a store inside a hotel chain that is an Amex partner accept Amex?
