I have to agree that while this is a good hotel, it's not the creme de la creme of what Chicago has to offer.

Are you looking to enhance your Chicago experience, or just your overall experience staying in the hotel?

If it's the latter, I agree with the suggestion to let them know you're there for your wedding. In fact, maybe call a day before, ask for the GM, and say you're the groom's best man...and that you want to be sure the hotel takes good care of the newlyweds.
