Definitely a drag. My 5K base points have also posted. Here is reply I received from Amtrak regarding status of promo points -
"Thank you for contacting the Amtrak Guest Rewards Service Center
regarding your promotional bonus points.
Per the terms and conditions of the promotion your bonus points will
post approximately 30 days after the promotion end date. You can check
your point balance or verify travel credit any time at
www.amtrakguestrewards.com when you go to Account Activity."
