That's what I thought. I was under the impression they were now hard to get. At least for foreigners. I was just told last week by a friend living there that I could just go to a convenience store and buy a pre pay, but I dont think it's that simple. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I figure I'd give it a shot, just using the hilton address as my own.
I'm also considering just buying some 10 mile range walkie talkies before I go, and giving my friend one, just to make meeting up easier. Saying 'I'll meet you at shinjuku station' only goes so far. Not as useful as a phone, but certainly simpler.
We should get a FT hand-me down phone going. Just put 3000 yen on it before you send it off to the next person.
