For a while this summer, they had flights that worked, but I guess things are back to the old ways.

(I think JL still has a same day connection, but to the flight without the internet.... one of JL's best carrots on that route).

Personally, I really like spending the night in NRT on the return, even if I can't make it into town because Japan serves as a nice decompression chamber between China and the US. That said, I may well be in the minority on this point because I have friends that regard the stopover as a complete waste of time.
