This would have been purchased off-airport and well wrapped with packing bubbles.
I brought two bottles back last month when everything needed to be checked. Simply stuffed the bottles in with the my clothing. I've done this numerous times before too; I've never needed/bothered to use packing bubbles, and I've never had a problem. (It sure beats lugging them on in carry-on.) ^
