Bottles of Wine? Oh yeah. Just pack them well. Actually, I'm still amazed at what I've checked as regular luggage and gotten back unharmed.

Untold numbers of bottles/cans of booze
An entire disassembled computer
Multiple, complete video game systems (and more next month)
One coconut monkey
One coconut
Digital camera (on the outside of the bag!)
One didgeridoo
LCD monitor
(although those last two were marked fragile)

Interestingly, the only things that have been damaged were a couple cans of American Mountain Dew (with caffeine) and a bottle from LHR duty-free that opened up in carry-on.
