UX CRJ's from Cali mostly end up in the high B50's (those "door" gates). Down the corridor, up the stairs and onto the end of the B Concourse. Long walk, but doable. The ORD flights seem to leave mostly at mid or lower concourse, rarely in the 40's. I'd suggest carry-on only (since you have a short stop in ORD too, it would be hard for luggage to catch up taking the later direct flight if it missed you) and having the door attendant or a gate agent on the concourse call the departing gate and let them know you're on your way and not to offload you.

We just transited DEN (FAT-DEN-LGA) in a similar manner with my MIL and the walk wasn't that bad, even stopping on the moving walkways for her. We had an hour cx and even had time for a potty and snack break in the RCC.

Good luck!
