I pretty much agree with the postive comments about the Crowne's location.

While it is on the opposite side of the River Avon (really should be called the creek Avon ) to most of the hotels and the main part of the CBD, I would never call it out of the way.

A short walk and a bridge across the "creek" would have you at the back of the CBD near the town square.

Christchurch really isn't a big town and a small difference in where the hotel is wouldn't be a big drama in the scheme of things. If anything, it would cut down on the "yobbo" noise when the clubs shut that you can hear at some of the other hotels at times.
