I noticed the departure tax included on an Air Asia ticket I purchased several days ago for travel in mid-February. The international departure tax increases to 700 baht on February 1 as well.
My question is: If a person is arriving into BKK from overseas with only carry-on luggage and plans to stay airside to connect to an Air Asia international flight, do they get a refund of the 700 baht departure tax? In the past they would not have to pay it.
Trouble is, I don't think you can check-in to Air Asia airside.
