The answer I got was "ahh, oh, well, we've got enough information on them already, Sir".

CR*****P!!!! They have no info on US citizens. No fingerprints. No background checks. Nada. I have heard talk of making permanent residents (aka green card holders) also having to go through the photo & fingerprint palooza - which is abusrd as we (as green card holders) have a digital photo and finger print on our cards, and have had name and background checks done before we were issued our cards. US Citizens? Nada - just show proof of birth and give them 2 photos and you get a US passport - voila! can't wait till I get my citizenship next year.

The reason they don't fingerprint and photofraph citizens is totally political - they vote! Visitors and permanent residents don't!
