In genereal across the RC system...
If you do not abuse the privlege by shuffling guest after guest in there and if they arent too loud, dont take 5+ trips to the buffet in 30 minutes, dont appear to be getting hammered off the free booze, etc...then they are usually tolerant and usually very gracious/welcoming about accomodating a guest or two.
Exactly.
Many RCs have a sign that says lounge visitors who aren't registered guests will be charged for their consumption at room service rates. I've had numerous guests in various RC lounges (RC-Laguna, CPS(NY), Buckhead, Cleveland, SFO, Barcelona) and have never had a problem. Bring in 10 rowdy people, and you'll be in the hole for a bunch if you get an unfriendly lounge chaperone. I've gone so far as having a 5 person meeting in a lounge (complete with flip books), me being the only club floor guest, and did not have a problem.
If they were to give you a hard time, most standard rooms permit up to 4 guests, generally with no extra charge. So, if it's you and a spouse, and 2 guests visiting, and the hotel tries to get cute, you could always register them!
