When I was boarding a flight recently, I was about the 4th or so person to board. As the guy in front of me passes the cockpit, he hands the captain a yellow slip of paper and says, "I'm your ...." and the captain just acknowledges and the guy goes back to sit in coach. I can only imagine this meant he was the FAM, but you would think they would have taken care of letting the captain know before boarding.
