Czech airlines OK Plus wont take responsibility for cancelled award reservation
My grandmother has died and the funeral is next week. I got the day off work but need to work until afternoon on the day before. A call to Czech airlines OK+ last weekend and I have have an award reservation for the last AF flight DUB to CDG, then the first morning flight to Sweden the day after. I was supposed to arrive just in time for the funeral and was prepared for a hard night at the airport on an airport bench.
Yesterday evening I called back to pay for my ticket, everything was fine and my payment details were taken. Then this morning I see that the outbound flights have been cancelled by AF becuase the reservation wasn't ticketed in time. Since I provided my payment in time his wasn't my fault but OK+ that didn't ticket it in time, OK+ also agrees with this.
Problem is, that meanwhile the AF flight DUB-CDG has filled up and only C, D and Y booking classes are available. OK won't book me on this flight again as there is no award class available. Even though there are earlier flights available I won't be able to take them due to work.
So now I am stuck. A paid ticket getting me there in time will set me back €650, way beyond my budget. My OK+ gold card doesn't seem to help. OK will call AF tomorrow to try to arrange a seat but I have little hope.. Also, since the ticket was never issued I don't believe they have any legal obligation to help me. Or?
Any ideas anyone?
