Angry Redeem for gift cards ONE AT A TIME or you'll get short-changed...

I finally had enough Aeroplan points to redeem for a decent flight, but I held off after hearing about what a hassle it was. So, I was happy to hear that I could redeem my points for gift cards instead, and I with a click of a mouse, redeemed all my points for three $100 Future Shop gift cards. A few weeks later, I received an ExpressPost delivery (no signature required... uh-oh!) and from the envelope only two of the $100 cards fell out. So I called Aeroplan customer service to track down the missing $100 card, and I was directed to a 1-800 voicemail number. I never received a return call (surprise!) so I sent a letter of complaint and (surprise!) never received a response.

So the lesson here, children, is to never redeem for more than one gift card at a time. The Aeroplan employee stuffing the envelope (and their pockets, obviously) will have a tough time sending out an empty envelope and getting away with it. If he/she shortchanges you by sending fewer cards than you redeemed for, you have no way of proving that you've been gipped.
