We recently made a trip to YYZ with two auction tickets (won and ticketed in Germany). We requested an upgrade for the return portion to FRA trough the SEN line. The UG was cleared and confirmed by the SEN line in Kassel. However, when checking in at YYZ, we were told by the check-in agent that the upgrade would not be granted and that we would be put into eco "where we belong anyhow with such a fare!". We consulted the Supervisor and he also said that the upgrade would not be granted and that we should not expect outstanding service from LH: you get nothing for nothing (he referred to the cheap fare). He also told us that auction tickets are NOT upgradeable. When we pointed out that the M&M in Germany had confirmed that we could upgrade (and the SEN line in Kassel confirmed this as well)he replied that M&M and LH are two different companies and that M&M does not know what fares are upgradeable or not. Also, LH Canada and LH Germany would have different upgrade procedures: it would only be in the gate agent's disrection whom to upgrade....SO, we did not get the upgrade, nor did we get two seats together (you know, once you are in ECO it does not matter that you are a SEN). We contacted SEN service in Kassel and they told us that they would look into this. We'll wait and see. Did anybody have similar (an maybe not this bad) problems with UGs on auction tickets (won and ticketed in Germany)?
