Thanks everyone for your responses!

I'm going to write a letter to both AC and TSA via registered mail today. I'm also going to write a letter to Los Angeles World Airports and am trying to figure out if I can actually file a report with LAX Airport Police.

Now that I think back two things really stand out! I checked in a bit earlier than usual and of course they put one of those big red PRIORITY tags on my bag.

Air Canada does not employee their own baggage handlers at lax
Well you confirmed my suspicion! Now I'm really thinking this is where it probably happened.

If you were flying from LAX I won't be surprised that TSA did open your suitcase. Usually they do leave a little notice inside .
You're right but I didn't find a note or those plastic ties they seal the bag with in my suitcase. I now really don't think the theft had happened while TSA had my bag.

Check out your insurance options.
Thanks! I think I bought the camera on a platinum visa and they usually have a coverage for theft or loss I believe so I'll take a look in to that.

Again, thanks all for your help! I'll let you know if anything at all comes out of my efforts. If anyone has an inside contact in AC who can help out in anyway at all I would appreciate their assistance.
