Also where do BD stand with these cancellations, do they come under Unforseen Circumstances meaning they dont have to pay a penny in compensation?
or BA. If there is availability in neither VS K or BA T, then what? If they put in economy on anybody, then they would have to give you 75% of the cost of your ticket.

As to the cancellation issue proper, it is difficult for them to invoke the extraordinary circumstances clauses. However, as long as they inform you sufficiently in advance and/or put you on a plane that arrives broadly at the same time at the original flight (which would rule out VS, BTW), they would not have to pay cancellation compensation money.
