Tonight's KL837 delayed 12 hours

Case in point of my earlier remark: after this afternoon's KL897 AMS PEK aircraft went technical and was diagnosed unservicable, KLM is now short one B74E frame. KL897 was dispatched 2.5 hours late and KL837 is, as usual, taking the brunt of the operational irregularity. KL837 is now delayed overnight until 9am tomorrow morning, while the airline waits for an overnight longhaul arrival for a B74E frame to become available.

As I said before, KL837 is the most obvious choice to take the delay, as it is sitting on the ground in SIN for 7.5 hours anyway, and as such it is virtually the only flight in the entire KLM longhaul system which is able to make up on outbound delays during the outstation transit.
