Of my 100+ segments in 2006,I have had one(I believe)AC aircraft go mechanical.Some delays due to weather.25% of my flights are over 4 hours,the rest are short haul.

My biggest hassels were on the few segments I had with UA.The crappiest single aircraft this year was a UA 737. However,like AC,UA got me to my destination safely.(delayed 3+ hours on a non groomed dirty RJ,forced overnight due to weather,connecting A.M.flight went mechanical,next flight went oversold and I did not have a confirmed seat due to the above.) I ended up coming home with AC because the business day was lost.
Sounds like UA treated you as well as they did me !
