I liked the hotel very much. I stayed there a few years ago and thought the room was lovely and beautifully appointed. I experienced very good service. The restaurant was exceptionally good. Of course, the location cannot be beat.
I do agree about the smoking. Does everyone in AMS smoke? Aside from the ubiquitious tobacco smell, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
