Boy, here comes the wave of devaluation of miles!!! Nonetheless, despite this change, I guess these programs are stilll better than JAL's Mileage Bank program... which I heard is aweful (expiration of miles, hard to earn miles, and become elite!).

I hope UA doesn't follow the trend as they have already implemented the mileage increase on certain award routes. 3 vs 2 year change is most concerning for those who don't fly frequently but accrue miles over a long time periods. For us who fly frequently, have mileage credit cards, etc., this won't affect us as much...

Nonetheless, what I really hope that UA doesn't do is implementing a validity time on miles. In other words, I hope they don't make earned miles expire after certain time period.
