Sounds like $3 for "reprinting".
This doesn't impact me, but it seems clear they don't want people calling in for such requests in the absence of payment. This is amongst the more ridiculous charges I've heard about -- especially given that no airline I deal with that emails itineraries does such a thing. What's the next charge? $3 for someone to find out how many miles are in their account?
In any event, this is like expedite fees but even better. Easy ways around it: go to
www.aa.com and pull up and print your own itinerary.
