Hey all.

So, bear in mind at the start of this that even though I've flown 200,000 miles on United this year (I will hit 300 EQM easily this year) I'm an American Airlines refugee. I fly most every week from BDL to SFO via IAD. I have no problems with upgrades outbound from SFO, but for whatever reason I don't clear with an unreasonable degree of regularity coming back through IAD. Anyone have any good ideas (other than getting UGS) that they think might solve the problem? It seems that the only way to clear is to snipe with the CR-1 well in advance, and all though I do it most every week I can't book too far in advance.

Other than the crappy upgrade rate coming home from IAD I have to say I've been pleased by United. MP isn't as good as AAdvantage, especially in terms of top teir benifits (as an EXP I didn't even have to use the 500 milers for myself) but United has the flights that I want so I guess I'll stick with it for now...
