If you can score an empty middle row in Hospital Class, it is better by far than almost any J seat......the 3 across allows you to stretch out whereas in J you are limited in reclining. Remember to bring your J class pillow with you!

The problem is you never know if there is an empty row and it will likely be gone by the time the doors close. That is the right of the economy class passengers in Hospital Class and rightly so.

Recently I booked in economy deliberately for this reason on a flight I could see was empty (a red eye from the west coast to central Canada). Unfortunately AC cancelled the flight at the last minute but the conceirge was kind enough to book me in J without a coupon!
