Although it is posible to get through TSA screening without ID, I'm not aware of any way to change the name on a non-refundable ticket without paying the $200 (international) change fee plus fare difference. How many friends are we talking about? Do you have enough miles to get them all award tickets? These can be refunded without penalty, if you're a CP.
