That you made it sound that this was something that is a common occurence that one can possible expect at any time when flying LH.

What you experienced was what most people were faced with - to different degrees at LHR during those days.

The circumstamces were a one off situation (not meaning that it can happen in the future again) - but certainly not what is offered in terms of services in every day operation.
