Actually I ran into an article about write-only memory long ago (when memory used to be very pricey and something we measured in K) It wasn't truly write-only, it was just that it had good write performance and atrocious read performance. The intended use was saving backup information that probably wouldn't be needed. I didn't know enough about computers at the time to understand exactly what one would do with it.
