They might be more plentiful. It's a separate inventory bucket, but that doesn't guarantee anything about what it contains.
using united.bomb to check availability doesn't show me anything better than yesterday (when I was a 1P). I called UA, got the 1K number, and the 1K desk told me that I cannot use the NY inventory unless I'm traveling on the ticket. Apparently I cannot book NY seats for other family members unless I am traveling with them.
