Well, yes, I see your point, but there should also be some reasonable amount of time they have to do this in. Can you imagine your mechanic calling you and saying that 3 years ago he charged you too little for your brake pads and to come pony up more cash? I'm not sure what the reasonable amount of time should be for a hotel, but for room rate issues (not incidentals that may not be discovered until after you leave the property), the day of checkout MAY be reasonable.
